Information we collect
We collect only the information needed to answer your requests, prepare a quote, plan a move, manage our communications, and protect the site.
- Identification information, such as your name, first name, email address, and phone numbers.
- Moving related information, such as the type of move, origin and destination addresses, city, province, postal code, expected date, number of rooms, floors, elevator, stairs, storage, packing, unpacking, and comments.
- Information provided through the quote form, such as residential or commercial choice, move type, residence details, special items, referral source, acceptance of the privacy policy, and acceptance of the terms.
- Photos you upload for certain special items. These photos may show personal belongings or private spaces. Avoid including people, personal documents, or information that is not needed.
- Technical data, such as IP address, device type, browser, pages viewed, visit date and time, cookies, and security logs.
- Calculation data, such as validated addresses, Google place IDs, distances, travel times, generated estimate, and quote number.
How we collect information
We collect your information when you use the quote form, a contact form, phone, email, site pages, analytics tools, cookies, and tools needed for site security.
Why we collect information
- To answer your questions.
- To prepare and send a quote.
- To calculate an estimated distance and travel time when this function is available.
- To confirm whether your move can be handled by our team.
- To plan moving, packing, unpacking, transportation, storage, or special item handling services.
- To send a confirmation, summary, or quote PDF.
- To create and manage an internal quote file.
- To improve the site and measure the effectiveness of our communications.
- To prevent fraud, protect the site, and comply with legal obligations.
Consent
When you submit your information through the site, you consent to its use for the purposes stated at the time of collection or in this policy. You may withdraw your consent when the law allows it. Withdrawal may limit our ability to process a request, prepare a quote, or provide a service.
Quote form
The quote form is used to collect the information needed to understand your project. It may generate an indicative estimate based on the data provided, configured pricing rules, and calculated distances. This estimate is not a final confirmation. A team member may review the request, confirm details, and contact you.
The form may use Google Places to help with address entry, Google Geocoding to validate an address, and Google Distance Matrix to estimate distance or travel time. Data required for these functions may be transmitted to Google.
Photos and files
Photos uploaded with a quote request are used to evaluate certain special items, access, weight, or required equipment. Quote form photos are stored in a folder managed by the site. Automatic deletion is planned after 60 days, unless longer retention is needed to process the request, manage a file, comply with the law, or protect our rights.
Sharing with third parties
We do not sell your personal information. We may share it only when necessary and allowed by law.
- Hosting, maintenance, security, email, backup, and web service providers.
- Map, address, distance, and analytics tools, including Google when required by site functions.
- Professional advisers, insurers, authorities, or organizations when required by law or when necessary to protect our rights.
- Members of our team who need the information to respond to your request or provide the service.
Communication outside Quebec
Some providers may process or store information outside Quebec. Before communicating personal information outside Quebec when required by law, we assess privacy related factors and take contractual or organizational measures to provide adequate protection.
Retention and destruction
We keep information only for as long as needed for the stated purposes, unless a longer period is required for legal, accounting, insurance, claim management, or security reasons. When information is no longer needed, we destroy it, delete it, or anonymize it according to applicable practices.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect personal information. These measures may include limited access, passwords, backups, security tools, updates, and staff awareness. No system is perfect. If you believe information sent to Brault Déménagement is no longer protected, contact us quickly.
Cookies and Web technologies
The site may use cookies required for operation, security, preferences, analytics, and advertising. Some cookies may come from third party providers, including Google. You can configure your browser to block or delete cookies. Some site functions may then work less well.
Google Ads and online advertising
When advertising campaigns are active, the site may use Google Ads, including conversion tracking, audience segments, and personalized or remarketing advertising. These tools may use cookies, device identifiers, your IP address, pages viewed, actions taken on the site, and technical data to measure ad effectiveness, limit repeated ads, and show more relevant ads.
Third party vendors, including Google, may show our ads on other sites or apps and may use cookies or device identifiers based on your past visits to our site. This information may be processed by Google under its own rules. You can review Google’s Advertising page.
You can manage or turn off personalized ads in Google My Ad Center. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser or use industry opt out tools such as the Network Advertising Initiative. Refusing advertising cookies may limit some performance measurement without stopping all ads.
Non-essential advertising functions should be activated only according to the consent choices available on the site and applicable requirements.
Automated decisions
The quote form may produce an automatic estimate based on the information provided. This estimate helps prepare a quote. It does not replace team review and does not by itself confirm availability, final price, or acceptance of a mandate.
Minors
The site is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a minor under 14 without the consent of the holder of parental authority or tutor, unless allowed by law.
Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you may request access to your personal information, correction, withdrawal of consent, deletion of certain information, deindexing when allowed by law, and portability of computerized personal information you provided.
To exercise your rights, contact the person responsible for the protection of personal information. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
Complaint or question
You may contact us with any question or complaint about the protection of your personal information. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may also contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.
Confidentiality incidents
If a confidentiality incident presents a risk of serious injury, we will take the measures required by law, including notifying affected individuals and the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec when necessary. We also keep an incident register when required by law.
Changes to this policy
We may modify this policy to reflect our practices, site functions, or legal requirements. The updated version will be published on this page. When required by law, we will take appropriate steps to inform you of changes.
