MOVING DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC: PROTECTION MEASURES IN PLACE

Every year, with the arrival of spring, people begin to organize their move. Despite the pandemic, this year is no exception, the moving season is approaching fast and will intensify until the end of July.
Moving companies have been placed on the government’s list of essential services. They therefore continue to operate, but like other trades, moving companies must set in place preventive health measures for their customers and employees.

HOW BRAULT DEMENAGEMENT ADAPTED TO THE CRISIS RELATED TO THE NEW CORONAVIRUS

At Brault Demenagement, we have been offering our customers an efficient, fast and safe moving service in the residential and commercial sectors for more than 60 years. Thanks to our know-how and our great expertise as movers, we have implemented the necessary and specific security measures during this period of health crisis, in accordance with government directives, in order to continue to serve you.

WHAT WE REQUIRE OF OUR MOVERS TO PROTECT THEM AND YOU

All our movers must respect the basic hygiene measures put in place such as: coughing into their elbow, washing their hands as often as possible, not coming to work if they feel any symptoms of Covid-19 surface, etc.

We make sure to train our employees in new working methods and we provide them with gloves that are changed several times a day.

In addition, we have limited the number of movers per contract, our trucks are now assigned to specific drivers to avoid contagion via trucks, and we maintain stable work teams with specific and fixed positions.

Our teams of professionals respect a distance of 2 meters between them as much as possible, no longer share tools or their supplies (pencil, cell phone, tablet, etc.), limit the number of people in the truck box, clean several times a day with a hydroalcoholic solution the door handles of the truck and the interior of the cabin as well as the door handles and the switches of each residence on arrival and departure.

Our equipment is fully disinfected every evening and we have banned plastic packaging. In addition, our movers make sure to leave all tools and equipment in the box of the truck.
Each of our employees must, before returning home, change all their clothes, put them apart in a closed plastic bag to wash them in hot water and disinfect their work shoes.

HOW YOU, AS A CUSTOMER, CAN ALSO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE FIGHT AGAINST COVID-19

All these health prevention measures are only effective if our customers collaborate 100% with us. The relationship of trust that we establish with the people we move has intensified with the pandemic. Indeed, for everyone’s health and safety, we must respect the instructions.

So, we ask people to move only if it is imperative. And to notify us if the move must be to or from a seniors’ residence / CHLSD because we must make prior agreements in order to have access to it (which is not necessarily possible). In addition, Brault Demenagement ask its customers:

  • To tell them if they, or a member of their family who lives with them, have symptoms of Covid-19;
  • To pack their boxes in advance, to bring them as close as possible to the entrance of the residence (thus avoiding too many comings and goings of the movers inside) and not to touch them for at least 24 hours;
  • To leave only one person per dwelling to liaise with the movers;
  • To have their own pen to sign documents;
  • To leave open the doors of rooms and wardrobes as well as the lights in dark places.

DIFFICULT SITUATION, BUT A MOVE IS POSSIBLE!

Thanks to the implementation of these measures and to the goodwill of everyone, Brault Demenagement will be able to provide you with a hassle-free move despite the current pandemic. Looking forward to moving you! Call us at 1-877-667-1876 or (450) 667-1876 for more information.
